DEADLY CULT CLASH LEAVES AT LEAST 8 DEAD IN LOKOJA

One of the dead bodies being recovered from River Niger

Lokoja, the Kogi state capital was thrown into pandemonium Monday night, when two rival cult groups clashed, leaving at least 8 persons dead, many of whose dead bodies were recovered from inside the river Niger. Young boys withing the ages of 20-25 freely display guns, machetes and axes.

It was insinuated that “boys” were imported from Warri, to prosecute the dastard attacks, which was sparked off based on information that a member of the rival cult groups went about exposing a recent robbery activities of its rival group, pointing houses of perpetrators to the police. Details are quite sketchy at the moment but parents are advised to keep their wards from staying out late at night and if possibly avoid spots like Kabawa, Karaworo, cantonment and Adankolo.

It would be recalled that some time in January, 2 persons were killed at Ganaja village of Lokoja when the Eye and the Elebe cult group clashed, destroying properties and maiming many. The residents of Lokoja and the police authority need to be on red alert, as the spate of cult clash within its metropolis is taking another dimension. People are to report suspicious persons or movement to the nearest police station.

More to come.
