Kogi State Polytechnic Shuts Down Over Killing of Female Student

Following the killing of a student of the institution on Monday evening by an unknown Okada rider, who was alleged to have stabbed the 3-4 month old lady to death over an argument on 10 Naira, the school has been shut down. The death sparked off a series of protest by the students today, barricading the Abuja-Lokoja express road, causing a gridlock and forcing men of the Nigeria police for to release shots into the air to dispel the students, who remained unperturbed and adamant. This necessitated the closure till further notice, to forestall any further grievous break down of law and order.
